Policy Updates and Reminders

Just wanted to post a few updated policies, and a reminder about some of my existing policies that are often overlooked. If you have any questions, feel free to email me anytime!
You can also find a complete list of all my policies under the Policies section on my website. There is also a FAQ section, with answers to many common questions about Belletristics' services.

Stock Monograms:

You may choose to see 1 more monogram than you order, then decide which you like best during the proofing process. For example, if you are ordering 1 stock monogram, you may pick 2 designs to choose from, then narrow your choice down to 1 during the proofing process.

Changes in stock monograms are limited to color and name/date/initials only. One free font change is included. Dates or other text can be removed at no charge, but if you would like to add additional text to a design, change the layout, or substitute a different graphic in a design, a fee will apply.

Hours of Operations:

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 am to 6 pm.

Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

Closed Saturday and Sunday, and all major holidays.

Turn Around Time:

You can expect to receive your first set of proofs in 3-5 business days from the time your payment is complete.

Please keep in mind, if you place an order after business hours, it will not be processed until the next business day. So while an order placed at 11 am on Wednesday will be processed the same day, one placed after 4 pm on Friday will not be processed until Monday.

Rush Orders:

Turn around time for your first proof is 3-5 business days. Please make sure you also allow time for any revisions that may be needed.

If you need your design sooner than 3-5 business days, a rush fee of $45 will apply. Please make sure to contact me before ordering if you will need rush service to make sure I can accommodate your needs.

Refunds/Exchanges:

No refunds or exchanges can be made after I've begun work on a design. You may cancel your order BEFORE you receive the first proof, and your payment will be refunded. (A $1 service fee will apply to any canceled order)

Custom Designs:

Before I can begin work on any custom design, I must have the following information.
1. Names/Initials/Date for the design
2. Exact dimensions for the design
3. Colors to use
4. Any text to include, exactly as you'd like it to appear in the final design
5. Any file requirements your printer may have

The first set of proofs for a custom design will include 3-5 design option. If you don't feel the provided designs match the style you want, you may request new design options.*

*Please note: You may only request new design options during the first round of proofs. The rest of the proof rounds are limited to revisions of previously provided design options only. If, after the second proof has been sent, you wish to see new design options, you must make a new custom purchase.

Colors:

Not all color combinations will work with all designs. I recommend choosing one dark color and one light color. Also, most light colors will not work well for small text, and many printers are unable to print white or other very light colors, even on dark paper. Please check with your printer first if you'd like a very light colored design to be printed on a dark paper.

Please keep in mind that all computer monitors will show colors differently, and the printed color will not match exactly what you see on the screen.

To be safe, I strongly suggest testing the color by printing it using the paper and printer you will be using for the final product.

If you'd like me to match your colors to a paper, ribbon, dress, or other item, please send me a picture and I'll do my best to match it, but because of the color difference between photos and real life, I can't make any guarantees.

If you have specific colors in mind, please include the hex code (it looks like #FFFFFF) in your order information. The monogram order forms include a color picker option. Or, you can check out this color chart from Lynda Weinman to find the values for the most common colors, or you can choose from this extended color chart by John December.

For designs with solid colored backgrounds, using a professional printer is recommended.

Please make sure to take time to read through all the policies and FAQ's before you place an order. By placing any order with Belletristics, you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to all the terms and policies.

Thank you!
